These wooden forms were modelled on Roman versions of this early type of slide-key and are made out of pine and cedar wood. It is tempting to think that the shape of the individual key might refer to the shape of the building or casket that the original key opened and closed. There are many more waiting to be made in a variety of woods.
The idea eventually migrated to rest in the title of the Big Keys that I made for White lund in Lancaster.
