Meeting Jay Luttman-Johnson

It was great to meet printer and sculptor Jay and her husband Tony near Hartland, North Devon when we went to their house and studio to get Goose Chase framed. Jay gives her prints unique frames that she makes herself from her collection of woods. She framed Goose Chase, a print I was given for my birthday, in Elm.

Her images and sculptures are stunning, the website well worth a visit and I have no doubt that every home should have at least one of her prints. They are truly magical and a rarity these days when so much art is logical and explicable. Her lino cuts are hand coloured and draw upon her experience of the local area and of her own fathomings of the collective unconscious. I always love artworks that go beyond description and feel these are creations from a highly evolved personal mythology.
