Thanks Ben! Nice pictures of the sculpture I made way back when in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth (UK). Great to see it through new eyes.
The idea of the Whales Tail was to create a metaphor of the unknown; so much of the whale is invisible, below the surface. It was cast in bronze with Scrimshaw inspired carvings that came from early sea charts.
After so long the sculpture was almost unknown to m,e, so the photographs shone a new light on it.
