When the exhibitions this summer were over I felt freer to return to the 'real thing'. A freeform process that I have practiced for years but that is so reliant on inspiration and composition that I leave it to times where I have no deadlines. SPLASH was a return to using stainless and mild steel together.  It is coated with a home made wax and turpentine mixture that works well inhibiting rust and when polished becomes a rich dark surface.  The straight rods are reminiscent of a bundle of magician's wands and the chaotic Splash on the other side; his magic trick!
